UPSC Geologist & Geo-Scientist Exam 2020
Candidates who have passed the Geo-Scientist Prelims examination will have to appear in the main examination. Candidates must have Geological Sciences, Geology, Applied Sciences, Earth Exploration, Mineral Exploration, Engineering Geology, Marine Geology, Earth Sciences, Resource Management, Ocean Science and Coastal Zone Studies, Petroleum Geosciences, Petroleum from any recognized University or Institute. It is necessary to have a master's degree in exploration, geochemistry, geological technology, or geophysical technology.
Should have an MSc degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Applied Geophysics, Applied Geology, Marine Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics (Technique) from any recognized university or institute.
Candidates with MSc from Chemistry, Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry can also apply.
For Junior Water Geologist (Scientist B) Group A in Central Ground Water Board:
A master's degree in geology, applied geology or oceanography is required from any recognized university or institute.
Candidates who have mastered in Hydrogeology can also apply.
The minimum age limit for the candidates to join this recruitment should be 21 years.
The maximum age limit for the general category candidates has been fixed at 35 years.
Other backward caste candidates are given a relaxation of 3 years in the maximum age limit.
There is a provision of relaxation of 5 years in the maximum age limit for the candidates belonging to SC / ST category.
