The National Eligibility Test is conducted 2 times a year. Eligible candidates are selected for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian government universities and colleges through the UGC NET exam. The UGC NET exam is conducted by the NTA in the months of June and December every year. Recently it has been announced by HRD Ministry that the UGC NET exam will be conducted this time by National Testing Agency (NTA).
The online application process for UGC NET 2020 has been started. The process of the UGC NET Online application form has started from March 16, 2020. The last date for submission of online application for UGC NET 2020 has been extended due to the COVID-19 epidemic. Now candidates can apply online till 30 June 2020.
Latest Updates (15 June 2020):
NTA has extended the last date to apply for the UGC NET exam to 30 June 2020. Earlier, the last date to apply for all these exams was 15 June 2020. Even before this, the last date to apply for these exams has been extended.
Significantly, due to the coronavirus epidemic, all entrance examinations, board exams, and examinations of all universities are being delayed. The UGC NET exam has been conducted in June every year but this time the application process will continue till the end of June. Other examinations will also be delayed. The date for the examinations is yet to be updated.
In view of the prevailing situation, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again extended the application dates for national level entrance examinations. In this regard, the agency has issued a notification on the official website. Also, Human Resource Development Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has also tweeted about this. According to the released notification, now candidates can apply for IGNOU Ph.D. OpenMate, UGC NET, JNEWE 2020, ICAR 2020, and CSIR NET by June 30.
Candidates who have a master's degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutes recognized by the UGC are eligible for the UGC NET exam. UGC NET is one of the popular exams in India. If we talk about last year, about 10.34 lakh candidates had applied for the UGC NET exam out of which 7.93 lakh candidates had appeared for UGC NET CBT (Computer Based Examination) Examination.

UGC NET 2020 Online Application
Online application for UGC NET 2020 June has started from 16 March 2020 and will be filled by 31 May 2020. The application form submitted after the last date will be invalid. The application fee of the UGC NET Exam 2020 is different for all categories. Once deposited the application fee will not be refunded or transferable. The application fee can be paid Online, through Credit Card, Debit Card, or E-challan. All candidates paying through E-challan will have to make cash payments in the bank. UGC NET 2020 Exam Pattern
The UGC NET exam is conducted as Online Computer Based Test (CBT) only. 2 papers are included in this online test. In UGC NET exam, both the papers have an Objective Type, Multiple-Choice Questions. In both the papers, candidates are not given any break.
Number of Questions
UGE NET exam has 2 marks for every question. There is no negative marking in this exam.
