All students are informed that the Central Board of Secondary Education has released the new exam date sheet of class 10th and 12th on the official web portal. The CBSE board had successfully conducted some subject exams. But due to COVID-19, the examination of some subjects has been postponed by CBSE board. Now the examination of the remaining subjects will be conducted by the CBSE Board from July 1 to July 15.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)has canceled the remaining exams of class 10th and 12th starting from July 1 for this year. During the hearing in the Supreme Court today (25 June 2020), the board has informed about this decision. Along with this, it has also been told that on which basis students will be given marks and results will be prepared.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta tells on behalf of the CBSE and the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development. At the same time, advocate Rishi Malhotra submitted arguments on the plea of Delhi, Odisha and Maharashtra government not to conduct the examination.
On what basis will the marking be done?
In the meeting with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, the Board officials had said that it is easier to prepare the result from the internal assessment of class 10. But in the case of class 12th, there will be difficulty in preparing the result in this way. Because on the basis of class 12th, IITs are admitted to many other higher educational institutions including medical. Many promising students may also fall behind in the school's internal assessment.
Therefore, the board has told the Supreme Court that students of class 12th will be given two options. They will be given marks based on their performance in the last three exams conducted at the school. Apart from this, they will also be given the option to appear in the Improvement Examination to be held after a few months. If students want, they will be able to improve their scores by giving an improvement exam.
Students appearing for CBSE board examinations will have to report to their nearest schools from June 1. This rule will be applicable to those students who have migrated from any city including Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, and returned to their villages or homes. These students will report in a government school located in their home district. This rule is for those students who have to take the remaining CBSE board exams. Students can submit their information, including their details, to their nearest government school anytime in the first week of June.
